Walking slowly, tired. Can’t wait to get home, lie down, and try to sleep. Seems the world has gone crazy, but still lonely and alone. Everything seems to be falling apart.
Trudging along the path to home, a piece of paper seemed to fall from the sky.
Curious, picked it up – with the thought, why do people go around and throw things, can’t they find a garbage bin or something?
There was nothing special about the paper. It was something torn from a notebook… but once opened, the words jumped at me…
“Keep the faith… keep on smiling :)”
No name, no signature. Just the message.
The message is familiar, the message is something of a mantra for the person reading it. Looking around, trying to find who might have lost the paper, no one around. No one near.
Looked up, and thought.
…I have to keep the faith, to keep on smiling 🙂
This was still for Day 5 of Writing 101. Been a while since I was able to get back.
I somehow did not follow the instructions on the situation but, well, I just hope it’s still ok.
Day Five: Be Brief
Today’s Prompt: You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter.
Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.
